acid sodium salt is an organic compound containing a naphthalene ring and a sulfonic acid group, with the chemical formula C10H8O3SNa. It is white or light yellow crystalline powder.

The compound is widely used in the dye industry as an intermediate or dye precursor. It can be used in the synthesis of various dyes, such as phenol thiophene dyes, naphthylamine dyes and Azaline dyes. It also has applications in pigments, vitamin C production and biochemical research.

The preparation method of acidsodium salt is generally obtained by reduction and sulfonation of nitronaphthalene. First, the nitronaphthalene is reacted with a reducing agent (such as stannous disulfide) to form 2-amino-1-naphthylamine, which is then reacted with a sulfonating agent (such as chlorosulfonic acid) to give 2-amino-1-naphthalenesulfonic acid. Finally, 2-Amino-1-naphthalenesulfonic acid can be prepared by reacting it with sodium hydroxide.
